Frequently Asked Questions
How does Private Pictures protect my images?
Your images are encrypted using strong encryption standards. The encryption happens entirely on your device - your actual images are never uploaded to our servers. Only essential metadata is stored securely in the cloud.
I forgot the password for an encrypted image. Can you recover it?
Unfortunately, no. Passwords are not stored anywhere - they are used to derive encryption keys locally. This is a security feature that ensures only you and people you share the password with can access the image. Please store your passwords securely.
How do I share an encrypted image?
After encrypting an image, the App creates a .ppic file. Share this file using any method (messaging apps, email, etc.) and provide the password to the recipient separately. They'll need the Private Pictures app to decrypt and view it.
Can I revoke access after sharing?
Yes! Go to the Manage tab in the app, find the image, and toggle off "Decryption Enabled." Even if someone has the file and password, they won't be able to view it once you disable access.
What are Privacy Credits?
Privacy Credits are a virtual currency used to enable premium features like preventing recipients from saving your images or disabling viewing entirely. You can purchase credits within the app.
Can I prevent someone from saving my image?
Yes! When protecting an image, you can disable the download/save option using Privacy Credits. Recipients will be able to view the image but won't be able to save it to their device.
Do I need an account to use the app?
Yes, you need to sign in to use the app. This allows us to securely manage access controls for your protected images. Your account information is kept secure and is not shared with third parties.
How do I delete my account?
To delete your account, please contact us at support@unii.in. When you delete your account, all your data is permanently removed from our servers. Any images you've shared will no longer be decryptable by recipients. See our Account Deletion page for details.
Is my data secure?
Yes. We use industry-standard security practices including strong encryption, HTTPS for all communications, and strict database access rules. Your actual images never leave your device.
Can the company see my images?
No. Your images are processed on your device. Without your password, the images cannot be decrypted - not even by us.
The app is crashing or not working properly. What should I do?
Try these steps: 1) Ensure you have the latest version of the app, 2) Restart the app, 3) Check your internet connection, 4) Restart your device. If the problem persists, please contact us with details about your device model, OS version, and what you were doing when the issue occurred.
How do I request a refund for purchased credits?
Refund requests must be submitted through the app store where you made the purchase. We cannot process refunds directly. If you have a special circumstance, contact us and we'll try to help.
